The Atomium is a landmark building in Brussels, originally constructed for the 1958 Brussels World's Fair (Expo 58). It is located on the Heysel Plateau, where the exhibition took place. It is now a museum.

Dari ribuan tahun silam, manusia memanfaatkan hewan sebagai alat transportasi untuk berpindah tempat dengan lebih cepat. Hewan seperti kuda, unta, dan kerbau sering digunakan dengan cara langsung menungganginya. Manusia semakin berkembang dan menemukan sebuah alat yaitu roda. 3500 tahun sebelum masehi, roda mulai digunakan dan dimanfaatkan sebagai alat bantu untuk memobilisasi barang dan manusia. Roda juga sering dikombinasikan dengan hewan sebagai alat penariknya saat itu. Lalu, pada 1769 ditemukan sebuah mesin bertenaga uap.
